Ordination Service of Pastor Sieghard Schulz - June 6, 2010

Wetaskiwin, Alberta, Canada

To ordain someone in the ministry means to assign or to consecrate a person for the work of the Lord.

Beginning in the old- right through the New Testament, God Himself appointed and ordained people for the work in the ministry. We also read that the Apostles themselves appointed and ordained ministers and elders in every Church that was planted.

Acts 14:23 And when they had ordained ... elders in every church, and had prayed with fasting, they commended them to the Lord, on whom they believed. (KJV)

The Apostle Paul also commanded the minister Titus to do the same:

Titus 1:5 "... ordain elders in every city, as I had appointed you." (KJV)

In obedience to this command the brothers in the Ministerial Committee and the Canadian Mission Board of the Church of God, felt that Pastor Schulz, who has served the Church of God in Wetaskiwin faithfully for almost 7 years, should be ordained. The following pastors, Harry Semenjuk, representing the Canadian Mission Board, Reinhard Roesler, representing the Ministerial Committee, and Siegfried Raasch, an ordained Minister, conducted the ordination service in Wetaskiwin on June 6, 2010 at 2:30 in the afternoon.

Baptism Service in Edmonton - May 30, 2010

Mark 16:15-16 And [Jesus] said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.”

The Church of God in Edmonton held a baptism service on May 30, 2010. Even though the weather was cold and snowy, the congregation was filled with great joy, praise and thankfulness to God. Seven young people testified publicly that Jesus Christ had forgiven them their sins and given them a new life. Based on their experience of salvation and testimony of faith, they were baptized “in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit”. May God bless all the young brothers and sisters that took this essential and rewarding step of obedience in their walk with the Lord. Photos are below.

Winnipeg Fest - May 2010

After months of praying and preparations, the Lord gave us a very blessed time of services over the May long weekend. Our theme this year was Jesus Christ, Yesterday, Today and Forever the Same! We were especially blessed by the enthusiasm and wonderful singing of the Bradley Street Church of God youth choir from Aylmer Ontario. Many of the songs gave strong testimony of changed lives and the joy that comes from our redemption In Christ. The messages by Pastor Rod Tribiger challenged all of us to give more attention to God's Word as it applies to our lives and affects us for all eternity. Souls could find forgiveness and healing from the Lord. What a real joy to have wonderful fellowship with so many that came. It was perhaps the best attended May Fest our church has had in many years.
