Jesus said, "Go into all the world!" This statement is more than just a request. Christians of every generation have heard these words. Jesus did not merely command them, but with His arrival He became the first missionary to people in need of salvation.
"And they went out and preached everywhere" (Mark 16:20). Jesus is the best example for the service of evangelism. His great love was the basis for His influential life (1 John 3:16).

What have we inherited from Adam?
"So God created man in His own image; in the image of God he created him." We read these lines in Genesis 1:27. This image of God that came into existence at Creation was subsequently corrupted by sin. That means that the moral nature of man was poisoned and the divine element of holiness was lost. Generally, this is referred to as "depravity" or our "sinful nature." But how exactly is this to be understood? We would like to discuss four points that clearly demonstrate the poisoning of man's moral nature in our practical lives. First however, we need to establish that this depravity manifests itself to different degrees in different people. Observe the various children in a family. Though all are raised in the same way by the same parents, we notice varying degrees of corruption among them, proving that depravity is truly inborn.

In order to understand this Scripture correctly, we need to observe the laborers during the harvest. Because we live on a hill and are able to look across the fields, we had the opportunity again this year to do so. We observed how much effort is expended to bring in the harvest.

Although no photos of the expansion project in Seminole have been posted for a while, the work does continue. Many know that 2011 was the driest year this area has ever experienced and the future seemed uncertain. But God brought us through a difficult year and we praise Him for that. The work was halted for a time, but in the summer of this year we redoubled our efforts and the brothers and sisters have been hard at work on the house of the Lord! Due to the nature of the soil here and the layout of the land, it was necessary to concentrate our efforts on the retaining walls surrounding the building to prevent soil erosion. A few pictures of that project are included – the remainder will be posted shortly. When the retaining walls are completed, the plan is to finish the interior of the sanctuary – we are all looking forward to this phase. Please continue to pray for our congregation.

The Bible course was an incredible experience, and I am so grateful that God worked everything out for it to happen this year. I'm thankful for the pastors who were willing to take so much time in preparation and time away from home to teach us. I'm thankful for everyone who attended, because everyone was a blessing to me and we were able to learn from each other, share struggles and pray for one another. I'm thankful for the church in Aylmer who was so hospitable and went to so much effort to prepare food for us, allow us to stay in their homes, and also especially for their prayers. I know other congregations were praying as well, and we are so thankful for such a supportive church family – God answered those prayers! Most of all thanks to God who gives us salvation through His Son, and that we can be free from sin and live with purpose!

God blessed us with beautiful weather as we, along with many brothers and sisters from across the world gathered for the yearly fall church convention in Edmonton from October 6-8. This year, Pastor Elke from Kelowna, BC was the guest pastor who delivered timely and scripture based messages under the guiding theme: “Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good.”
